Smart Choice Filling Strategy for Lateral Entry

1. Priority Order

Fill top-tier state university departments first (e.g. YMCA UST, DCRUST Murthal, UIET KUK, GJUS&T Hisar) even if your rank is moderate. Counselling algorithm checks choices top-to-bottom.

2. Maximum Choices

Never limit your choices to just 2 or 3 colleges. Add plenty of backup branches and autonomous institutes to ensure you don't get disqualified from the first round.

3. Mandatory Locking

HSTES mandates that candidates lock their selected choices before the deadline. Unlocked choices might get automatically saved or reset depending on the portal session.
